Find your tuition fees

Tuition fees cover the cost of teaching, learning and academic supervision associated with your course and vary depending on your course, study load and year of commencement.

To determine the cost of a La Trobe course, search for the course on our find a course page. The 'Overview' section will list the annual tuition fee in Australian dollars (A$) for the displayed year. Be sure you're viewing the international student version of the course page.

Fees are based on an annual load of 120 credit points unless stated otherwise. Changes to your study load will affect your course fees. You can estimate the total cost based on the annual fee, but note that fees may change yearly.

We reserve the right to adjust fees annually, typically not above a seven percent increase per year. Any fee increases will take effect on 1 January of the following year.

Once you have enrolled in your subjects, you will receive a Statement of Account that lists your tuition fees and their due dates.

In the event that the tuition fees listed in your offer letter differ from the published annual tuition fee, you will be changed the published tuition fee rate (for your year of commencement).

For refund policies and procedures, visit our refunds page.

Tuition fee due dates

The payment due dates below apply to international students enrolled in semesters and terms.

In most cases, the payment due date for each subject is 21 days before its Census date.

The Census date is the last date to withdraw without academic or financial penalty. Your payment due date is earlier and is used for administrative purposes.

  • You must pay your fees in full by the due date unless you have an approved sponsorship or scholarship.
  • If your fees are not paid by the due date, a warning will be sent to your La Trobe student email to take action and pay your fees, as your enrolment may be at risk of being terminated.
  • If fees remain unpaid, your enrolment may be terminated.
  • Failure to pay fees may affect your enrolment and Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE).
